TaxAlerts Tax Article

Taxpayers all across America are receiving telephone calls from scammers purporting to be from the IRS. Threatening legal action, arrest and imprisonment, the callers are men and women with heavy Indian and Asian accents. Many of the calls occur during non-business hours, and on weekends and holidays.
At TaxAudit, our Members have reported receiving calls from the telephone numbers below, which are known to be scams according to reports on tallow.com and callcenter.com. There are likely to be others.
If you have been a victim of this or any other IRS scam, report the incident using the FTC Complaint Assistant at FTC.gov. Be sure to add “IRS Telephone Scam” to the comments of your complaint, and also report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
Read more details about the scam in our November TaxAlert.
