Should I Purchase TurboTax Audit Defense?

Man reading a notice

Whether you are in the process of filing your tax returns or have already filed, you may be wondering if audit defense is worth the purchase.

While we cannot answer that question for you, we believe it is worth considering! TaxAudit has over 12 million audit defense members. Upon receiving any type of notice from the IRS or state taxing agency, our members can call us immediately, and we will:

  • Provide an easy-to-use, secure portal for you to upload all documentation
  • Explain your options and develop a strategy
  • Review your documentation before presenting it to any taxing authority
  • Schedule and attend all audit appointments on your behalf
  • Keep you informed throughout the process

As the largest audit defense firm in the nation, our expertise is in tax, and we specialize in representing our members to the IRS and state taxing agencies. Our goal is to provide our members with the relief of knowing they are in good hands while not dealing with any taxing agency directly. Instead, they simply provide us the necessary documentation, and we take it from there!

Additionally, the cost of our services is minimal. Many other firms charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars for similar services, while TurboTax customers only pay a one-time fee per tax return for full audit representation. Furthermore, many tax professionals do not handle audits on a frequent basis and may not have the experience or knowledge that is required to best respond to the IRS – but with us, audit representation is both our specialty and our passion!

If this sounds like something you are interested in, the easiest way to purchase memberships is when you are going through the process of filing your tax returns through TurboTax. The program will ask you if you’d like to purchase audit protection, and you can simply add it to your order at that time. If you have already filed your taxes and did not purchase audit defense, and/or you would like to purchase memberships for other tax returns, you can do so by visiting our TurboTax® Audit Defense site or by calling our Customer Service team at 877.829.9695. If you are interested in becoming a member but do not use TurboTax to file your tax returns, you can still purchase audit defense memberships on our website or by calling 800.922.8348.

If you are still curious about whether this investment is a good one, we encourage you to read the testimonials of some of our members that we have included below!

Totally pleased with how quickly my request for help was handled. Assurances to help, instructions for next steps were clear, requests and instructions for how to retrieve or send files and documents were clearly explained, timely updates on the case, quickly finding the reason for the audit, and perseverance while dealing with IRS agents to correct IRS error were all strong points of Maryam's service! Instead of paying more taxes, I will receive the tax return that TurboTax and I calculated for 2020! I am so happy with your services!

This is the second time I have had to use TaxAudit. They are consummate professionals and saved us thousands of dollars the IRS mistakenly said we owed.

I could not have been more pleased with TaxAudit services. My representative, Robert, worked diligently on my case and kept in contact with me throughout the experience. He was exceptionally kind and thorough. I highly recommend this service for anyone who does their own taxes.

Bill was the most patient, helpful, concerned man I have ever met. He stuck with me through thick and thin and did all he could to help me with this situation I found myself in. I just can't say enough about him except that he is a keeper. Wonderful, very intelligent and knowledgeable man with compassion and concern for his clients. I am so happy with the result in this ordeal. I have already recommended people to use TurboTax and to make sure that they pay for the TaxAudit. It is well worth the money. Thank you so much Bill, I will never ever forget all you did for me.

Gary was absolutely amazing! This was our first time going through an audit, but Gary was super attentive to details of the case but also had patience and professionalism needed to navigate us through this stressful time. I'm not sure what we would have done without Gary and TaxAudit. Thank you so much!
